Glasgow Airport

Which egomaniac politicians and planners thought up this ridiculous scheme in the first place?
How much is it going to cost to run a rail link?
Do we believe the costing estimates anyway?

There's a major motorway intersection between the railway line and the airport. A rail extension is not a practical option.

St James Station is only a few hundred metres from Glasgow airport
.
Most people travelling by rail to an airport will have one suitcase and some hand luggage.

There is clear and easy access to build a moving pavement, within a perspex tube, built on stilts above the motorways. Passengers would cross this link in minutes.
The views would be spectacular. An incredible vista extending from Glasgow to Ben Lomond, the Clyde, and the Renfrewshire hills.
Paisley has one of the finest roofscapes in Scotland. Go to the top of the airport's ugly multi storey carpark and have a look.

There is ample space to build a bus station next to St James Station, with instant access to the M8 and A737. Services to the Clyde Coast, and Highlands and Islands could be revitalised. Paisley is in desperate need of revitalisation after being decimated by the monstrosity that is Braehead.

The proposed Glasgow Airport Rail Link was a bigger white elephant than the Edinburgh tram line.
The Scottish Parliament should have been built next to Grangemouth petrochemical plant. It should have been built without a roof.
